We have created a perfect environment for new players to try and pick-up hockey as a new sport.
The Boomerang Train-and-Play Hockey program, held on Saturday afternoons at Forsyth Park during T2 & T3 each year, allows players an inclusive and simple way to try hockey without having to commit to a full season.
The format each week is simple:
The players do 45 minutes of training in a squad with our outstanding coaches
They group is then split into even, contestable teams and they play a match under the supervision of an umpire and with the direction of coaches
There are some big advantages to this:
The sessions are fun, nuturing and competitive - but not ever intimidating for new players
The kids of all ages attend the same venue at the same time
There is no weekday training meaning it is easier to balance other activities
There is no commitment to a regular team required - meaning absences are not problematic
You do not have to travel to diverse, remote venues
We encourage friends and family to join in - for one week, or for all four. If you have a sleepover or play-date, encourage the friend to have a go.
All that is required is to complete this simple registration form.
After one month any player can continue by registering with the Club.
